In 1977, a group of friends from Madrid's Santamarca Institute decided to form a
punk rock band called Alex y los Drugos, later turning into techno pop in a new
project known as Holoplástico, which changed its name to Aviador Dro soon
after. In 1980, La Chica de Plexiglás and La Visión became the group's first
records, followed by Programa en Espiral and Alas Sobre el Mundo. Two
years later, the band founded its own label, called Discos Radiactivos
Organizados (DRO). After issuing 1983's double album Síntesis, Aviador Dro
started touring around Spain, soon having the opportunity to open for
Stranglers and David Bowie. In the year 2000, Cosmos Records released a
tribute called Aviador Dro Re:Programado Robots Para los Atomos.
